The Northern Ontario Catholic Curriculum Cooperative was founded in 1993 by the Catholic school boards of Northern Ontario. This was done in response to the above call of our Bishops and to major curriculum changes
introduced, at that time, by the Ontario Ministry of Education. The purpose of NOCCC is to consolidate and coordinate the efforts of the member boards in producing a Catholic curriculum for use in their schools and classrooms, from the Quebec to the Manitoba borders.
Since the NOCCC was founded, it has published hundreds of curriculum documents, containing over 45,000 pages of expectations, teaching strategies, student activities, teaching resources, evaluation ideas and modifications for exceptional students. Our teacher writers have integrated our Catholic faith and tradition throughout these materials. As well, over 100 work shops have been offered from Kenora to North Bay to Moosonee and beyond, in order to train literally hundreds of teachers in the use of this Catholic curriculum.
